Terri Schorzman is the Director of the Department of Arts & History. She has spent the majority of her career creating and managing program activities for cultural organizations, including as a program manager at the Smithsonian Institution where she was responsible for all operations and activities of an international research program in the history of science and technology. She has also led the communications effort for a regional planning agency, where she was responsible for public information, education, media relations, and public involvement, and worked in public programming and development for a local science museum. As a volunteer, she is the current state Advisor to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and held leadership positions in statewide and regional non-profit preservation and history organizations. She is also a former commissioner for the (former) Boise City Arts Commission, where she served on the executive committee for several years. She holds a Masters of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in American History and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State University in American History and Social Studies Education.


A Boise native, Karen Bubb is Public Arts Manager for the Boise City Department of Arts & History. She consults and provides workshops statewide for municipalities and arts organizations regarding public art, creativity and cultural policy. In 2008 she completed her Masters in Public Administration and Graduate Certificate for Regional and Community Planning at Boise State University. Bubb is also an active visual artist who graduated from University of Oregon in 1990 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. She works in many mediums including stained glass, encaustic painting, printmaking and collage. She shows her artworks at the Linen Market every third Sunday of the month at the Linen Building on Grove and 14th in downtown Boise.


Brandi Burns has an Honors Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Idaho State University. She is currently enrolled at Boise State University, pursuing her Masters. As the City Historian she enjoys answering historical inquiries, conducting research, and collecting oral histories. She grew up in Centerville, Idaho, where the gold mines of Idaho fostered her love for history.


Amy Fackler is the Cultural Programs Manager who joined the Department of Arts & History in early 2009. Amy manages the Performing Arts at the Market program, Arts for Kids, Fall for Boise projects and promotions, and cultural-related special projects. Amy strives to help connect local artists, musicians, and performers with Boise residents, as well as to cultivate recognition of and appreciation for Boise’s unique and rich culture that makes our city a vibrant and desirable place to live. Amy has worked and volunteered for numerous cultural organizations in Boise since 1995, including the Idaho State Historical Society, Boise Art Museum, and the City Arts Celebration committee. Amy completed her master’s degree in 1995 in museum studies from Oregon State University; she also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Anthropology (double-major) from the University of Washington.


Josh Olson is the Public Art Education and the Conservation Specialist and has worked for the Department of Arts and History since 2000. He provides guided public art tours, website and promotional development materials, classroom resources, and facilitates community art projects. By providing these services, residents and visitors alike can better appreciate the cultural benefits of a prominent public art collection. Joshua also preserves Boise’s three million dollar public art collection through regular assessment, maintenance and conservation efforts. This involves community outreach, subcontractor management, and vandalism abatement. With documentation, installation oversight and collection inventory, Josh works at preserving the integrity and aesthetics of this valuable city treasure.


Janelle Wilson is the Administrative Specialist for the Department of Arts & History. She is a Boise native with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Boise State University. Janelle is an active member of the Boise Young Professionals and the Southwest Idaho Directors of Volunteers Services. She served as a board member for Big Tree Arts for three years and was a competitor on the Boise Poetry Slam team in 2007 and 2008. Janelle is also the owner/director of Revolutions Entertainment which provides choreography, master classes, and music editing to area dance studios and schools.
