Through a new partnership between the City of Boise's departments of Parks & Recreation and the Arts & History, the Boise Depot is now open for small-scale exhibitors during public hours.
"The new program is intended to encourage visitation to the landmark structures as well as provide an attractive exhibit venue for artists, craftsmen and photographers," said Mark Baltes, chair of the city's history committee.
Boise Depot FREE Public Hours (closed legal holidays) are as follows:
| October-May | Sundays Noon-4pm |
| | Mondays 2pm-6pm |
| June-September | Sundays 10am-6pm |
| | Mondays 12:30pm-8pm |
Exhibitors are responsible for all bringing, setting up, and tearing down all display materials (such as tables and racks) independently. The City of Boise staff has final authority on the appropriateness of an application for the Boise Depot venue.
The Boise Depot is a beautiful historic Spanish-style structure and served as the former Union Pacific railroad station. Exhibits can be scheduled in the Great Hall, a soaring 3,542-square-foot multi-story atrium that once served as the building's waiting room. Limited space is also available outdoors. With a splendid panoramic view of the Boise Front, the building grounds include Platt Gardens, a lovely park with pathways, a gazebo and a koi pond.
