The Boise Public Works Department's mission is to use our resources effectively and to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community leaving a legacy of enhanced quality of life for Boise.
Our charge is to protect and enhance Boise's environment through responsible management of wastewater treatment, surface water and ground water quality, trash and recycling collection, street lights and a natural geothermal heating system.
Partners for Clean Water
The Partners for Clean Water (Partners) is a group of six agencies that work together to keep storm water clean in the Treasure Valley. The Partners mission is to create a conscious and responsible public that knows clean water is good for the environment, business, and our community.
Boise Public Library
To assist members of the community in education themselves and enhancing their personal, business, and social well-being through the use of library resources and services. Boise Public Library offers a variety of resources and services to local citizens via three physical locations, a bookmobile and the library web site.
Boise Parks and Recreation
Boise Parks and Recreation is a leading partner in Boise Environmental Education. Their mission is to enhance Boise's quality of life by working in partnership with the community to foster and support citizen well-being and healthy community environments. The lessons and programs offered through Boise Environmental Education foster a greater understanding in the community of the natural resources that make Boise so special and are a wonderful complement to the recreation and sports programs that the department is best known for. Whether you are interested in a walk along the Greenbelt, playing softball, creating art, learning about foothills animals, or just taking a hike in the Foothills, picnicking, dancing or visiting Zoo Boise, the Boise Parks and Recreation Department has an activity for everyone!
