Have you ever wondered why sheep suddenly appear in the Boise foothills for a few days each spring and fall? All ages are invited to gain some “woolly wisdom” about the Western tradition of sheep trailing! Join us for sheep shearing demonstrations; pat the lambs; see a herding dog demonstration; try hands-on activities like drop spinning; enjoy a low-cost catered lunch; shop for hand-made wool crafts; and hear some great music. Co-sponsored by the Idaho Woolgrowers Association and the Idaho Rangeland Resource Commission.
To get to the Foothills Learning Center, take 8th Street north through Boise's North End. From the end of the pavement go 1/3 mile farther. Parking is VERY limited; a shuttle bus will be available for participants who park at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road. It will run every 15 -20 minutes from 10-2. Please take advantage of this shuttle or consider using other alternative transportation for this event. For information call 514-3755. No cost or registration is required.
