Plan Your Visit

Located minutes from downtown Boise, the Foothills Learning Center is nestled in Hulls Gulch in the heart of the Boise Foothills. Click here for a map. With indoor and outdoor classrooms, conference room, a self-guided interpretive trail, and access to multiple trailheads, the Foothills Learning Center is a perfect place to explore Boise's natural environment.

For the protection of children and the environment, our grounds and interpretive trail are closed to dogs, and we ask bicycle riders to dismount in this area.

Admission

There is no cost for programs at the Foothills Learning Center. For pre-school and school-age lessons, we schedule directly with the teacher or group leader. Programs are available during the school day, after school, and some evenings and weekends. For more information about lessons, click here.

Hours

The building is open by reservation, and when we have lessons and events scheduled. If you are interested in getting into the building, it is best to call first or schedule an appointment. We are closed for all national holidays. The interpretive trail is always open.

To reach the Foothills Learning Center, take 8th Street north through Boise's North End. From the end of the pavement, travel 1/3 mile further. You'll find us on the right side of the road at 3188 Sunset Peak Road. For questions or more information, call 493-2530.

Accessibility

We are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Our nature trail is hard packed and meets ADA requirements for accessibility.
