Foothills Learning Center

Foothills Learning Center

Operated by the City of Boise Parks and Recreation Department, the Foothills Learning Center focuses on education and information about the Boise foothills and the surrounding high-desert environment. It is a place for learning by direct experience with the outdoors.

Science comes alive for students and other visitors to the Foothills Learning Center. The heart of the Foothills Learning Center program is our school-age education program. We offer a wide range of lessons for kindergarten through sixth grade both in the classroom and at the Center. See our catalog for a complete list of offerings.

We also provide service-learning opportunities for all ages and abilities, and special family and community events throughout the year. All of our programs are interactive and designed to give you a new look at our local environment and ways to reduce your impact on the planet. See our Upcoming Events page for details.

Two more Boise Parks and Recreation programs are housed at the Foothills Learning Center: Foothills Open Space Management and the Ridge to Rivers Trails Program. Together, we are all working to keep our foothills open, accessible, and beloved by the community.
