Using This Web Site

Welcome to the official Web site of the City of Boise. Our goal is to maintain a dynamic, interactive online government presence to provide convenient, cost-effective online services for residents, visitors and businesses.
Viewing PDF Documents
Many documents on this site are available as Adobe Portable Document Format files (pdf). You must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in loaded on your computer to view pdf files. The plug-in is available free from Adobe
.
Links to pdf documents will be identified by the pdf icon
or with (pdf) following the file name or link.
If viewing a PDF file in Acrobat Reader is very slow, it may be due to the size of the document. You may be able to view larger documents more easily by downloading them to your PC, then viewing with Acrobat Reader from that location.
Getting Around & Finding What You Need
This is a very large web site, but we have made every attempt to make it easy for you find what you need with the following navigational elements. If you are unable to find the information or services you need, please contact us by e-mail: webmaster@cityofboise.org.
Top Menu - Every page of the site has a top horizontal menu. If scripting is enabled in your browser, the top selections will drop down menus with selections for that column. If menuing is disabled, each of the categories across the top gold menu will link to directory pages for that category.
Side Menus - Most pages on the site will have navigation menus vertically aligned at the left of the page. Sections of this menu will expand if there is an arrow (up or down) placed on that menu item. A down arrow indicated that the section can be expanded by clicking on the arrow. Items at the lower level will then display and the arrow will change to an UP arrow, indicating that the section may closed by clicking on the UP arrow.
Search - Every page of the site has an option to Search. On the home page, the search box is placed in the upper left side, and on all other pages it is in the upper right side of the page. There is also a Search text link in the footer of every page.
Directory Pages - The following pages are general directories to links within the site which may be helpful if you are looking for all links of a particular type:

Errors Reading the Video File
When opening a video file, a network or firewall will sometimes prevent or interrupt the connection to a video file. Saving the file to your computer and running the video locally should help. Right click on the VIDEO icon or text link that you wanted to download and then select "Save target as" from the list. Select the location for the file and click "Save". Then open the video file from your desktop or whatever folder you saved it to on your computer.
Windows Media Player Plug-In
Videos on this site are in Windows Media format and require the free Windows Media plug-in to view. You may download the latest Windows Media Player for either Windows or MAC by selecting an icon below. If you already have Windows Media Player on your computer and the file will not play, we recommend you update to the latest version.
