Frequently Asked Questions

Rates

Q. Are my trash rates increasing?
A. No, the City does not plan to increase rates at this time.

Q. How does automated trash and recycling pick-up keep residential trash rates low?
A. Automated pick-up reduces the number of work related injuries and workers' compensation claims that waste management companies typically incur when collecting trash manually.  Automated pick-up also improved efficiency, saving time at each collection.  The collector of recycling every other week will reduce the amount of fuel that trucks use.

Q. How much will additional trash carts cost?
A. You may order up to two additional 95-gallon trash carts.  The first additional 95-gallon cart costs $1.00 extra per month.  The second additional cart costs $2.00 extra per month for a total of $3.00 for two additional carts.

Q. Will there be lower rates for smaller trash carts?
A. Yes, customers using either a 65 or 48-gallon cart will pay $1.00 less each month.

Q. Will there be lower rates for smaller recycling carts?
A. No, recycling services are already provided at a discount rate.  Recyclers pay $4.00 less per month than non-recyclers.
