New Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA)
In a continuing effort to protect the airline industry and the traveling public against terrorist attacks, the Transportation Security Administration has ordered that Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA) be established on airports where cargo is being handled and loaded on aircraft. To comply with this regulation the airport, in conjunction with the TSA, has established three new SIDA areas where FedEx (B), UPS and Western Air Express operate.
Access to these areas is restricted to SIDA badge holders. Warnings have been painted on the ground to stay clear of the areas unless you are properly badged. If you enter one of these SIDA areas you can expect to be challenged and issued a Notice of Violation (NOV) if you do not have a valid SIDA badge.
We realize these new restrictions will create an inconvenience for some General Aviation operators but ask for your cooperation in staying clear of these new restricted areas.

There have been three Pilot Deviations since December 2000, all involving clearance to taxi to Runway 10L. This clearance takes a pilot from the terminal area down Taxiway "A" to the Hold Short line at the approach end of Runway 10L. In all three cases, the pilots failed to stay on Taxiway "A", and continued onto Taxiway "J". In addition, all three failed to stop at the Runway 10L Hold Line on Taxiway "J", thereby violating the safety area for Runway 10L. Be advised that clearance to taxi to Runway 10L is only clearance to the west end of Taxiway "A", and not clearance to use Taxiways "J" & "Z" to reach Runway 10L.
