Burn Out Fund
Where does a family get help if their home is destroyed by fire? Fire strikes suddenly. Adults and children must leave a burning home without hesitation and leave behind all material possessions. Food, clothing, coats, shoes and a place to sleep are immediate needs of fire victims. The Burn Out Fund was established October 7, 1964 by Boise Firefighters Local Union members during Fire Prevention Week. The Burn Out Fund provides short term assistance to families whose homes are destroyed by fire. The organization donates cash to families so that they can get essential shelter, food and clothing. The current chairperson is Charles Ruffing. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Charles Ruffing at 590-1437. Mailing Address: Charles Ruffing, Boise Fire Department, Burn Out Fund, City Hall, PO Box 500, Boise, ID 83701.
