 Fire Chief Dennis Doan cmartinsen@cityofboise.org Phone: (208) 570-6551 | Dennis Doan started his career with Boise Fire Department in 1991 as an entry level Firefighter. Dennis continued his service in the Operations Division as he advanced to the rank of Senior Firefighter in 1995 and then promoted to Captain in 2002. He was awarded Boise City Firefighter of the Year in 2003 for his work as a lobbyist for Idaho firefighters. He was President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Idaho (PFFI) from 1999 to 2004 and lobbyist for the organization from 1997. Dennis spearheaded the Fallen Firefighter Memorial for Idaho as the founder and also served as Chairman of the Memorial. Chief Doan has extensive background in the political arena, representing Idaho Firefighters as a lobbyist for eight years during Idaho’s legislature sessions. During his career in the International Association of Firefighters, he volunteered his time to assist small fire agencies with Union issues. Dennis was appointed Fire Chief in February 2008, becoming the fourteenth Chief in the history of the Department. He has an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Boise State University. He is currently enrolled at Northwest Nazarene University, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Deputy Chief of Operations Perry Oldenburg poldenburg@cityofboise.org Phone: (208) 570-6568 Cell: (208) 989-1118 | Perry Oldenburg began his career with the Department in 1991. Working his way through the ranks, he was promoted to Senior Firefighter in 1994. Perry was honored as Firefighter of the Year in 1997. He was promoted as Captain Firefighter in 2004. Perry served on the Union Local Executive Board from 1994-1996, then elected as Vice President in 1997. He served a two year term as Union President from 2000 to 2002. Perry earned a Fire Department Life-Saving award in 2005. He became Deputy Chief of Operations in February 2008. Perry supervises all Operations Division personnel and directs departmental programs such as Urban Interface, High Rise Buildings, Emergency Medical Services and is the liaison to Ada County Dispatch.

He was promoted to Senior Firefighter in 1990 and Captain in 1993. Tracy filled the vacancy of Battalion Chief of Training from 1999 to 2005. His rank changed to Deputy Chief of Training in September 2005 where he currently supervises Boise Fire Department's training requirements, recruit and leadership academies, physical fitness program, safety and emergency management.

He was promoted through the ranks in the Operations Division to Senior Firefighter in 1992 and then Captain Firefighter in 1997. Bruce became Battalion Chief of C Shift - Battalion I in February 2002. He was appointed to his current position as Division Chief of Operations in September 2008. Bruce manages Boise's three Operations Division Battalions, supervises ten Battalion Chiefs and is also responsible for coordination and oversight of Boise Fire’s specialty teams; Hazardous Materials, Technical Rescue, Water Rescue and Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting. She began her career with the Department as an Accounting Specialist, bringing with her a 13 year background in retail banking and commercial loan accounting. Her primary function was processing payroll and personnel budget preparation. She was promoted to Senior Accounting Specialist in 2001. Connie transferred to the position of secretary for the Fire Chief in 2006 under Chief Ross’ administration. Connie was awarded Employee of the Year in 2000, 2004 and 2006. She was promoted to her current position as Office Coordinator in December 2008. Connie supervises the clerical staff which provides support for the various Department divisions. She is the Fire Chief’s liaison and oversees recruitment and hiring for the department. She was awarded Manager of the Year for the Department in 2009.

He has over 25 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services, working with Amarillo Medical Services in Texas, Mercy Ambulance in Las Vegas and most recently as EMS Division Chief with Henderson Fire Department.He earned his Fire Science Technology and Fire Service Management degrees at the Community College of Southern Nevada and a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Nevada. Randy is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and is the liaison to the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulances Services. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association, National Association of EMS Physicians, National EMS Management Association and Idaho Fire Chiefs Association.

| Kim Brown joined the Boise Fire Department in June 2009. Kim has 10+ years of experience in various analytic and management roles in multiple industries. These roles include a Forecast Manager at HP, a Fund Manager at DBSI, a Senior Financial Analyst at Albertsons, and a Manager of Labor and Compensation Analysis at Station Casinos in Las Vegas. Additionally, Kim worked for a third party administrator for 6 years, administering union benefits for construction trade Trust Funds. Kim earned both her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Finance and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. Kim supervises the Accounting staff which provides A/P, A/R and payroll services. She is responsible for Administration, Budget, Contract Administration, Strategic Planning, Technology, Impact Fees, Workers Compensation, Policy and Procedures and General Orders.

Knoelk joined Boise Fire Department as Division Chief of Logistics in December 2009. He began his firefighting career in 1987 as an ARFF firefighter. In 1991, he was hired as a firefighter with North Ada County Fire Rescue (NACFR). He was promoted up through the ranks to Captain. He served ten years as a fire science and technical rescue instructor with Boise State University and the University of Nevada, Reno. In February 2003, he was appointed as Fire Chief for NACFR. Martin served three terms on the FEMA Region 10 Advisory Council. As a Logistics Chief, he oversees the maintenance and operation of the Department’s facilities. He manages the mapping, hydrant and Opticom programs as well as the Supply Warehouse/Stores facility. Martin presently serves on Idaho's Medal of Honor Commission and Emergency Communication Commission. Martin is a Logistics Section Chief on the State and the City Incident Management Teams.

 Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Romeo P. Gervais III rgervais@cityofboise.org Phone: (208) 570-6567 Cell: (208) 869-7908 | Romeo Gervais joined Boise Fire Department in September 2011 at his current rank of Deputy Chief Fire Marshal. Romeo has 18 years of experience within the fire service, starting as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT in Rhode Island & Massachusetts. His career led into Fire Prevention during summer internships at Rhode Island State Fire Marshal's Office and the Phoenix Fire Department. He became a Fire Protection Engineer in Illinois before moving to Loveland, Colorado. In May 2001, he became Deputy Fire Marshal for Loveland Fire & Rescue and held that rank until his employment with Boise Fire. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His certifications include Firefighter II, Wildland Firefighter II, Haz Mat Operations, Fire Inspector II, Plans Examiner, Professional Engineer, Certified Fire Code Official and Certified Fire / Explosion Investigator. Romeo's role as Fire Marshal includes the management of the Fire Prevention Division. He conducts Plan Review and oversees Inspection and Fire & Cause Investigations.
