02-01-12 House fire comes with a warning for home owners
Boise, February 1st, 2012, 10:00 p.m. - Fire UPDATE: Boise Fire investigators say the cause of a single wide mobile home on the 1109 North Fox Lane at approximately 8:00 p.m Wednesday evening was related to an overloaded electrical circuit. Fire officials want to remind residents that using a UL rated surge protector for electrical appliances, computers and other items is always a good idea.
What Happened: Firefighters were called to the fire on the 1100 block of North Fox Lane at approximately 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Fire crews arrived to find a fire in the back master bedroom of the home. Fire crews made a quick stop on the fire and were able to prevent further spread of the fire. The origin of the fire was in the back master bedroom of the mobile home and the fire was confined to that room and extended partially into the kitchen. Fire crews were able to salvage some personal belongings for the owners. The owners will be able to salvage a fair amount of stuff from the residence. Fire crews rescued three cats and provided oxygen for the animals until personnel from the animal shelter arrived to assist. The cause of the fire seems to be an overloaded electrical outlet in the master bedroom. The family was not at home when the fire began and no one was injured in the fire. The Boise Fire Burnout Fund did get called out to assist with burnout relief for the homeowners.
