Training Division
Boise Fire Department Training Division is located at 333 N. Mark Stall Place in City Hall West. The Division is responsible for teaching new firefighters many skills and techniques during a 5 month recruit academy. Continuing education, physical fitness training, firefighter safety and EMT/Paramedic certification is provided to the Department's employees by the Division. Each year, the Firefighter Safety Symposium is hosted by Boise Fire Training and attended by hundreds of firefighters from all over the western United States. The Division is managed by Deputy Chief Tracy Raynor.

House Training Fires
The Training Division conducts training fires in old homes or buildings around the City to improve fire fighting skills. To donate a house for a practice burn, please contact Captain Rich Kuehn at (208) 570-6541.

Vehicle Extrication Training
First responders are often called to the scene of vehicle accidents that involve trapped victims. Firefighters are trained on Vehicle Extrication with donated cars. If you wish to donate an old vehicle to the Training Division please contact Captain Rich Kuehn at (208) 570-6541. The owner will need to present the vehicle title.
Public CPR and First Aid Classes
Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid classes for the public are provided through the American Red Cross. Groups of 10 or more are required for a class to be scheduled.
