Mayor Bieter extends deadline for applications to youth board and commission service
Boise teens interested in serving on city boards and commissions during the 2008-09 school year must submit their applications by Friday, May 16, 2008. The previously announced deadline of April 30, 2008, has been extended to allow time for more teens to apply.
The Youth Board and Commission Service is an annual program that gives youths the opportunity to serve on the boards and commissions making decisions on how the city provides services to the community. Youth board appointments will run from September 2008 through May 2009. All positions are voluntary and unpaid, and are open to applicants ages 15 to 18 who live within Boise’s city limits.
Boards and commissions in need of youth members include Airport, Arts & History, Design Review, Development Impact Fee Advisory, Foothills Conservation Advisory, Historic Preservation, Boise City Ada County Housing Authority, Library, Parks & Recreation, the Mayor’s Council on Children and Youth, and Planning and Zoning.
