Downtown Development Coordination Program
Downtown Development Coordination
Boise's pilot Downtown Development Coordination (DDC) Program provides developers and business owners with a “Downtown Coordinator” to help them navigate the City’s permitting process, act as a resource for needed information, and coordinate all City services to ensure they are as prompt and efficient as possible.
The project coordinator will determine what applications are needed, assist business owners in identifying potential design or code requirement conflicts and facilitate conflict resolution meetings when necessary. The new program is intended to better assist small businesses doing tenant improvements or other projects that may not qualify for the City’s existing project management program.

Downtown Neighborhood Planning
Neighborhood planning is an important tool promoting collaboration between the City and Neighborhood Associations to guide the future of Boise’s neighborhoods. The City serves Boise’s neighborhoods with a Geographic Area Planning (GAP) program.
Planners are assigned specific geographic areas of the City so they can develop expertise in their area's unique issues, and use that knowledge in their project review of development applications from those areas. The GAP program also familiarizes Planners with their area's Neighborhood Associations.
