Spring Clean Boise Information
Mayor David Bieter is proclaiming May “Spring Clean Boise” Month in an effort to enhance neighborhood livability. "Boise is particularly beautiful in the spring. I encourage all residents to enhance that beauty even further by organizing projects to make their neighborhoods shine," Mayor Bieter said. "Just a few hours of work one weekend in May can make a remarkable difference in the livability of our city."

  • Help Someone: If you have usable but unwanted appliances or furniture, please consider donating them to a community organization which can find them a productive home. The Spring Clean Boise Resource List can help match your items to someone who can use them.

  • Appliances: Large appliances, stoves, refrigerators, water heaters, washing machines are collected by Allied Waste on a by-request basis. You must call Allied Waste at 345-1265 in advance to arrange for collection. Residential customers will not be charged an additional fee.

  • Old Tires
    The The Ada County Landfill takes old tires. The cost depends on tire size, but runs about $4.00 per tire. Call 577-4725 for more information.
  • Abandoned Cars
    Abandoned cars are an eyesore, and on narrow streets and alley ways, they pose a life/safety risk by obstructing emergency vehicles. The City is coordinating with a commercial salvage company who is willing to pay all towing costs, making this service free to residents. The salvage company needs the vehicle’s title or police authorization to remove a vehicle.

• Community Shred-It Day
  • Supported by local law enforcement agencies, this event not only helps you clean up, but protects against identity theft. You can shred documents, video or cassette tapes, or CDs and DVDs. Don’t forget tax papers, checks and check stubs, bank statements, financial records, old credit cards, and credit card applications.
