The Community Center was built through a HUD project in 1974; the original facility housed social service agencies in addition to some recreational amenities. The seniors moved into the Senior Center around 1980-81, and eventually agencies such as Retirement Jobs of Idaho and the Arthritis Foundation moved out as well.
The Center began with about 20,000 square feet. With the remodel of 1996-97, the interior design was changed and we added a 4,500 square foot art facility. This was funded through a combination of general fund money and the FUNDSY grant (the grant used primarily for the teen room remodel in 1999).
