Guard Start
The American Red Cross Guard Start program is offered at Ivywild and Fairmont Pools. This course is designed to give young people between the ages of 11 and 14 a jump start to becoming lifeguards. Course activities include: fitness training, learning how to prevent accidents, leadership, professionalism, and responsiveness. Participants will receive activity books and will also do volunteer work with the lifeguards to experience how the facility operates on a day to day basis. Register at the pool site you wish to attend! For more information, please contact Fairmont Pool at 375-3011 early June 2008.

Private Rentals
Pool may be rented for private parties any night of the week from 9:00 - 10:30 p.m. Reservations must be made and fees paid in advance. See pool party rates.
Youth Outdoor Pools Swimming Lessons
Classes are available at all outdoor pools through the Boise Parks & Recreation Stroke & Turn Aquatic Recreation program (STAR). Eight 25 minute classes are offered in two-week sessions, Monday-Thursday. Class size is limited. Registration is available on a first-come, first served basis. Pre-school classes are available to ages 3-4 years. Swimmers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water. For all other classes students must be at least 4 years of age.
