Tennis

Tennis lessons are offered during the summer months at outdoor tennis courts for youth and adults. Register or view class listings online beginning mid April each year.

Youth Lessons - Ages 6-15

Beginning: Learn the basics of tennis: grip, stroke techniques, serving, and movement. Classes are arranged by age group.

Advanced-Intermediate- Ages 8-16: For students who lack consistency in a rally but can coordinate footwork when contacting the ball on the forehand and backhand. Students can keep score, serve (but frequently double fault), and understand the basic rules. There will be some emphasis on game playing.

All participants may enter any of the end-of-session tournaments, called Treasury Valley Junior Circuits. By playing in one of the TVJC's, your child will qualify to play in the Idaho Grand Prix. Adult Lessons - USTA Tennis - Ages 16 & Up

Classes are designed for beginning to advanced-intermediate level tennis players and are limited to eight to ten students per instructor. Classes are offered in four, three-week sessions and are held at the Fort Boise Park tennis courts.

Beginner: Introduction to the basics of tennis. Learn proper grip, stroke techniques, serving, and movement.

Advanced Beginner: Instruction designed for tennis fundamentals and to improve the level of your play.

Intermediate: This class will prepare students for entry level tournament play. Some emphasis on competitive play.

Advanced Intermediate: A focus on competitive tennis. This class is structured for tennis players seeking higher level play.

Drill Group: This class will improve your game through the use of fast paced competitive drills and play.
