ReLeaf Boise 2012 is on Saturday, April 28th
Established in 1990, Boise Parks & Recreation Dept., Community Forestry Unit started ReLeaf Boise, a citizen volunteer effort to plant trees along city streets. ReLeaf Boise stemmed from American Forests' Global ReLeaf campaign, an international quest to improve the earth's environment through the planting of trees.
In Boise, approximately 110 trees are planted on public rights-of-way each year by the generous labor of volunteers. Beautifying and cooling the streets of Boise, these trees have improved our quality of life tremendously!
Want a Free Tree?
It's possible that you may qualify for a free ReLeaf Boise Tree! Some streets have enough room on the rights-of-way to support a tree planting and some do not. An inspection of the street, including the adjacent structures and vegetation, will determine whether a tree is suitable. Give us a call and we will see if you qualify. Also, when a right-of-way tree has to be removed, a new tree will be planted in it's place. One of the options of replacing the removed tree, is to receive a free ReLeaf Tree.
ReLeaf Boise takes place the last Saturday of April in conjunction with Arbor Day. Join the Boise Parks & Recreation Community Forestry Unit and other volunteers to help plant trees along the streets of Boise! Get a group of friends together and have a blast!
This year ReLeaf Boise is on Saturday, April 28th.
