Instructor Helps Adults Overcome Their Fear of Color
Irene Woodworth has some advice for adults who are afraid of choosing paint colors for their walls. Come on in, the waters fine! says Woodworth, a Boise Parks & Recreation instructor who enjoys teaching her students about the "language of color."
A color consultant and owner of www.OneDayRedesignsInc.com, Woodworth offers her one-day class, "Color Inspiration - How to Invite Color Into Your Home and Life," from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at the Fort Boise Community Center Art Center, 700 Robbins Road. The cost is $20.80 for Boise residents and $31.69 for non-residents.
During the class, Woodworth teaches "hands-on" painting techniques and finishes for walls. She asks students to bring an inspirational piece such as a pillow, a piece of fabric or favorite magazine picture plus two large white poster boards. Participants work together using these items to discover their own unique color palette.
"I help them take that first step," says Woodworth, who has college degrees in teaching and interior design. It is so exciting because I help people transform their homes one at a time."
Be daring, says Woodworth. "There is more color in people's homes now than ever before."
