Spring break programs include:
Art camp - kids age 6-12 will participate in hands-on activities with clay, watercolor, drawing, designing, sculpture and more in three-hour classes taught at Fort Boise Community Center. Classes meet from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. March 26-30 at Fort Boise Community Center. Cost is $66.10 for Boise City residents; $101.90 for non-residents.
Drama camp - Participants age 9-11 will participate in musical production numbers, mini skits and improvisational exercises in this six-hour camp. Campers will present a mini-performance on the last day. Camp meets from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. March 26-30 at Valley View Elementary School, 3555 Milwaukee. Cost is $41 for Boise City residents; $63 for non-residents.
Rec ‘Em Camp -- The goal of this camp is to introduce kids age 9-11 to some of the fun and inexpensive activities our city has to offer. Try fitness activities, mountain biking and more in this four-day camp showcasing a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, many of which are available through Boise Parks & Recreation. Open to youth age 9-11, this camp meets from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March 26-29 at Fort Boise Community Center. Cost is $61 for Boise City residents; $94 for non-residents.
Sprockids Mountain Bike Camp - Explore some of the single-track trails in the Boise Foothills in this five-day camp. Riders age 6-12 will learn proper bike maintenance, technical skills, safety, etiquette and more. Bikes are available. Kids age 9-12 will meet from 9 a.m.-noon; 6-8 year olds from 1-4 p.m. March 26-30 at Fort Boise Community Center. Cost is $63 for Boise City residents; $97.10 for non-residents. This camp is co-sponsored by the Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association.
Performing arts camp - Youth age 12-15 will get a unique musical theater experience in this camp, which meets from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March 26-30 at Fort Boise Community Center. Participants will participate in musical production numbers, mini skits, dance and improvisational exercises. Cost is $76 for Boise City residents; $117.25 for non-residents.
Golf camp - Tee up for five days of fun at Warm Springs Golf Course! This camp is designed to prepare youth to play golf on their own. Kids age 7-15 will learn full swings, short game, play and rules. Campers will take breaks with movies and down time too. Clubs are provided. Camp meets from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 26-30 at the golf course, 2495 Warm Springs Ave. Cost is $250. To register, call 343-5661.
Ultimate Zoo Experience - Learn about animal care, exhibit enhancement and environmental projects at Zoo Boise. Participants in 7-12th grade will be involved in many aspects of the zoo March 26-29. Campers in grades 7-8 meet from 9 a.m.-noon; 9th-12th graders meet from 1-4 p.m. at Zoo Boise. Cost is $31 for Boise City residents; $47.50 for non-residents.
Wildlife Explorers - Learn the techniques used by wildlife biologists to study animals in their natural habitat in this camp offered March 26-30 at Zoo Boise. Students will study animal behavior, scat identification and tracking with telemetry and animal behavior. Activities include zoo tours, science experiments, crafts and games. Campers in grade 1-4 meet from 9 a.m.-noon; 5th-8th graders meet from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Cost is $90 for Boise City residents, $95 for non-residents. Friends of Zoo Boise members pay $80.
Learn to skate camp - Beginners age 5-12 are invited to learn basic skating skills in this camp, which is taught by professional coaches. “It’s Great to Skate” camp is open to boys and girls and meets from 8:30-11:30 a.m. March 26-30 at Idaho IceWorld, 7072 S. Eisenman Road. In addition to skating instruction, campers will enjoy snacks, games and public skate sessions. Cost is $75. Call 331-0044 for registration information.
