Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex

Charles F. McDevitt Sports Complex is a Special Use Park located in west Boise near Eagle. The park is 30 acres with another 10 acres left to develop. The youth sports complex features picnic areas, a playground, several little league fields, a fishing pond, and a skate park. Dogs are not allowed in Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex from March 1 - October 31, which is during Little League season.

Mr. McDevitt made a name for himself in the Boise community by participating as a former Idaho Supreme Court Justice who believes in the philosophy that "keeping young people busy with work and play keeps them out of trouble." He has also held the role of Park Board president and he currently leads the Foothills Conservation Advisory Board. His dedication to the Boise valley has been tremendous and demonstrates his feelings for improving the Boise valley surroundings. His latest accolade was the Robert M. Artz Award which he was presented at the National Recreation and Park Association National Awards Ceremony on October 15, 2004.

I'm Glad You're Here, 2006

"I'm Glad You're Here," aims to convey that everyone is welcome. What better icon for this desert landscape than a cowboy, the western hero. His holster is empty, signifying the message, "leave your guns at the door when you enter." The icon on the other side, the conjurer, has the ability to make the impossible look easy - his magic mirrors a skater's pursuit. He wants to do tricks on his skateboard that look effortless, but, in reality, take much skill and time to perfect.
