Ready, set, play! Kids in West Boise will enjoy a big, new playground installed at Fairmont Park, 7925 W. Northview St.
The new Kompan equipment includes traditional swings and slides plus innovative climbing and spinning equipment. The $200,000 project was being funded by the City of Boise.
"Boise playgrounds are uniquely designed for each site with the goal of providing a quality recreational experience for children close to home," said Wendy Larimore of Boise Parks & Recreation. "Playgrounds encourage kids to engage in active play and enhance fitness while combating obesity."
The 7-acre neighborhood park is located west of Morley Nelson Elementary School and Community Center. The park features tennis courts, softball diamonds, a soccer field, a picnic area and a municipal pool.
The construction of the Fairmont Park was a joint agreement between Boise City and Boise School District. After a long process the park was completed in 1977.
