John Booth Memorial Park is a triangular area, a tiny oasis near the heart of downtown Boise of approximately 1.5 acres, bounded on the north by the Boise River, on the east by Capitol Blvd and on the west by south 9th street. It has long been used in a casual way by tourists as a place to stop for lunch, to sleep or to orient themselves with road maps as they entered or left Boise. It was used by local people as a place to gain access to the river for fishing or picnicking. There is currently a bench and landscaping at the park.
