Partnerships
The Boise Parks & Recreation Department has been very fortunate when it comes to the development of partnerships that benefit the community, throughout its' history. These partnerships have given Boise Parks & Recreation the ability to maintain a high level service that the citizens of Boise have grown to expect from their Parks Department. They have been instrumental in providing our community with many parks, programs, and facilities we would not have been able to provide on our own.
Many of our premier parks such as Ann Morrison, Julia Davis and Kathryn Albertson Park have been developed through partnerships. These collaborations have also been responsible for the development of a fair number of the community's sporting facilities, including Simplot Sports Complex, Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex and Optimist Youth Sports Complex.
Not all our partnerships have involved large park construction, however. We have been successful in developing playgrounds, zoo exhibits, shelters, and countless benches, picnic tables and trees through partnering with the community.
The reason these partnerships have been so successful is that they present Boise citizens the opportunity to have a vested interest in their Parks Department. Which in turn instills a sense of pride and accomplishment with the partnering organization, by giving them the knowledge that they helped build a stronger community.
