Boise Parks & Recreation Volunteer Program
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Boise Parks & Recreation. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for you or your organization to be involved with. These opportunities range from on time volunteer events to ongoing year round or seasonal programs. It is also possible for us to set you or your group up with a project that meets your availability or interest.
If you or your organization are interested in volunteering with us, you will be required to review the City of Boise Volunteer Handbook and sign a volunteer waiver prior to placement. Some volunteer positions are sensitive in nature or involve working closely with at risk populations. These positions may require you to undergo a criminal history background check and/or fingerprint test.
There are a large variety of opportunities across the Department, such as coaching hockey at Idaho IceWorld; helping youth with disabilities participate in sporting and outdoor activities in our AdVenture Program; educating zoo visitors about the animals and their habitat at Zoo Boise and aiding with special events such Zoo Boise; lead and prepare lessons for school and community groups at the Foothills Learning Center; and helping the Department with park maintenance needs in events such as Releaf Boise, Tending Our Foothills, or the Boise Riversweep, as well as perform park spruce ups in Service or Eagle Award Projects.
Regardless of your interest, we are sure to have an opportunity for you.
