Women's Leagues

The Warm Springs Golfs Course has two Ladies Leagues.  One is a non-competitive league (Tuesday "Day' league), the other is a competitive league (Wednesday "Twilight" league).

DAY LEAGUE:

The Ladies Day League generally runs from the beginning of March through October.

During the months of March, April, May, September and October the shotgun start is at 9:00 AM.  The shotgun start is at 8:00 AM in the months of June, July and August.  The Day League plays 18 holes of medal play each week, with a different "play-of-the-day" format each week.  Because this is a non-competitive league, each player must sign up for Tuesday play at the Warm Springs Club House by the Sunday prior to play.  Players in the Day League must be members of the Warm Springs Ladies Association.

RULES OF GOLF:  Standard rules of golf shall apply to league play.

GREEN FEES:  Each player is responsible for greens fees.

TWILIGHT LEAGUE:

The Ladies Twilight League generally runs from Mid-April through Mid-August, with a 5:45 PM shotgun start.  The Ladies Twilight League format is a two lady best ball format.

ELIGIBILITY:  All players must be members of the Warm Springs Ladies Association and have an IGA handicap.  The maximum handicap allowed for league play is 40.  Substitute players are not required to be members of the Warm Springs Ladies Association; however, are required to have a current IGA handicap.

LEAGUE:  The league shall consist of 32 teams, where each team consists of two players.  These teams will be split into four flights (A-Flight, B-Flight, C-Flight and D-Flight) with eight teams per flight.  The Flights will be based upon the teams combined handicap of the two team members.  Regular league play will consist of 14 weeks of competitive play, where each team plays against every team in their flight twice.  Additionally, there may be weeks designated at "fun play" where players from different flights will be mixed together to play  scrambles, chicago format, etc.

TEAMS: Each team shall consist of two players, with a maximum handicap spread of 10.

LEAGUE PLAY AND SCORING:  Regular league play will consist of 14 weeks of competitive play, where each team plays against every team in their flight twice.  Each night of regular league play, two opposing teams will play 9 holes of golf against each other utilizing the best ball format.  Each team will earn a point for each hole that they win (net best ball).  In addition to the 9 "hole points", one additional point will be awarded to the team with the lowest best ball gross score.  If a team is absent for a night of play, the absent team will receive 0 points for that week and the opposing team will receive 5 points.

FEES AND PAYOFF:  2009 fees and payoff will be announced at a later date

RULES OF GOLF:  Standard rules of golf shall apply to league play.

GREEN FEES:  Each player is responsible for greens fees to be paid in advance of league, or split into two payments with those payment dates to be determined for the 2009 season.

SCORECARDS:  Opposing teams shall "trade" scorecards prior to the beginning of play.  The scorecard should reflect individual players gross score, the teams best ball gross score, the teams best ball net score, and hole points won by the team.  Please turn in scorecards to the front desk upon completion of play.

POSTING OF SCORES:  The Ladies Association Handicap Committee will post league play scores, please do not post 9 hole league play yourself.

SUBSTITUTES: If a player is planning to have a substitute play for them, that player should notify the Pro Shop of the substitutes name and IGA number, as well as the name of the member who will not be playing.  The Pro Shop staff will not secure substitutes for absent players.  Substitute player lists are available at the golf shop.

ABSENT PLAYERS:  Players should tee off at the assigned start time (5:45 p.m.) and not wait for any absent players.  If a player does join late, that player may not use scores for any holes missed.  However, if one team member is on-time and the second team member is late, the on-time team member scores can be used to obtain points for those holes they have played.  If both players of a team are late, they have forfeited the holes that they were unable to play, with the opposing team "winning" those points.

BAD WEATHER:  The Ladies Twilight League tries to accomodate for inclement weather by building in "fun play" weeks.  If a league play night is cancelled due to inclement weather, that night may be made up by cancelling the scheduled "fun play".

REMINDERS

Show up on time: Be ready to play at your hole on league nights. If you are late you may not use your score for the holes you miss. Do not wait for any missing players. You must tee-off at 5:45.

Handicap: Team members and substitutes must have a current IGA handicap. A temporary handicap can be established with five 18-hole scores.  A player can post past scores that were previously played  that would be applied towards establishing a handicap.
