Hewett Playground Update

Hewett Playground Concept
Hewett Playground Concept

The City of Boise is investing in upgrades at Hewett Park this summer, including adding a new ADA accessible sidewalk extending from W. McMillian Road south to North Oxbow Place and a new playground for the neighborhood. Boise City Council members recently approved funding for the installation of additional accessible playground equipment. The updated playground design features inclusive and accessible play equipment including a bird nest swing, play house, various climbing structures, a sensory garden wall, and equipment for kids of a variety of ages and abilities. Please note, the existing two playgrounds on site will be removed and the new playground will be combined into one pod. The new play area will feature fully accessible bonded rubber surfacing.

Playground construction is expected to begin in May 2024. The playground is anticipated to be closed until mid-October.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while the park is under construction. Please feel free to email us with any concerns or questions.
