Upper 8th Street Trails
The network of trails in the upper 8th Street area were built specifically for Off Highway Vehicles, (OHV's) with access from the 8th Street Parking lot. The Hulls Gulch Interpretive Trail is in this area as well and is a Pedestrian Only trail. With this mix of trail uses it is important to respect others and share the trails.
Hulls Gulch Interpretive Trail (Trail O)
This is a classic family hike with gradual grades and interpretive signs explaining the role of fire in our environment. There are no bridges for the 6 stream crossings but they can be maneuvered by most
children if done with care. Using two rigs, a vehicle shuttle can be arranged for a mostly down hill hike.
Trail #4 Trail #6 Loop
This route is open to OHV's but may not be suitable for the new rider. It is a difficult mountain bike ride in either direction. Trail #4 provides access to the Boise Ridge Road and beyond for those vehicles that are street-legal.
Trailhead Parking:
- The 8th
Street Trailhead is an excellent access
point to these trails, as well as to the
Corrals area trails to the west. It is
located on upper 8th Street, 4.7 miles
from the 8th Street/Lemp Street
intersection. The road becomes graveled
after .8 miles, but is passable to
passenger cars.
-
The Hulls
Gulch Interpretive Trail can be accessed
from the 8th Street Trailhead, or at
it's upper end, 6.5 miles beyond the 8th
Street/Lemp Street intersection. The
road becomes increasingly steep and
rutted beyond the 8th Street Trailhead.
