Letter from the Mayor

Dear Residents of Boise,

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Curb It — Boise's new automated trash and no-sort recycling program. This summer, Boise will transition to a new trash and recycling service that is affordable, sustainable, and flexible. To help you with this transition, I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Curb It web site—the City's new online resource for trash, recycling, and waste reduction.

As your Mayor, I am committed to keeping collection rates low over the long-term. Moving to an automated collection system helps us accomplish this goal by reducing worker injury, turnover, and labor costs. The Curb It program is also an important element of an overall vision for a greener and more sustainable Boise. With the introduction of no-sort recycling, we can all do our part to divert recyclables from the landfill and curb waste.

The quality of life in Boise is second to none and with your help we can keep it that way. In promoting the Curb It program, I encourage all residents to reduce, reuse and recycle so that we can preserve the quality of life in Boise for generations to come. I invite you to use the information on this web site to do your part in helping us achieve these important goals.

Thank you for helping to make Boise the most livable city in the country.

David H. Bieter
Mayor
