Colin Nash

Council District 2

Bio submitted by candidate -

Colin Nash was elected to the Boise City Council in 2023 after being appointed earlier that year. As Council President, he has led investments to keep Boise safe, livable, and affordable. He advanced the first public access investments at Spaulding Ranch Park, completed the Settler’s Canal Path, and acquired two new park properties in West Boise—that will bring thousands more families within a 10-minute walk to a park. He also secured the city’s first ongoing funding for the pathways program, expanding safe connections to schools, parks, and neighborhoods.

Colin has made public safety a top priority, adding six detectives to investigate crimes against children, domestic violence, sexual assault, and internet-related crime, while pushing for stronger fire response standards. On housing, he has reduced barriers to innovative affordability options like accessory dwelling units and leveraged federal funding to support new affordable projects. He also delivered millions in property tax relief for low-income seniors and qualifying residents through Boise’s new rebate program.

From 2020 to 2024, Colin represented the West Bench in the Idaho Legislature, where he served on the Appropriations Committee, strengthened sexual assault laws, and advanced affordable housing policies. He lives in West Boise with his wife, Hailey, a Boise School District teacher, and their two children.
