Short-Term Rental Licensing Update
On May 12, 2026, Boise City Council approved the repeal of the city’s short-term rental ordinance to align with changes in Idaho state law regarding local regulation of short-term rentals.
These changes take effect Monday, May 18, 2026.
After May 18, 2026
- A City of Boise short-term rental license will no longer be required.
- Existing short-term rental licenses remain valid through May 18, 2026.
- The City of Boise will continue enforcing applicable nuisance, noise, parking, safety, occupancy, and other regulations consistent with state law and city code.
