Kathy Corless Headshot

Kathy Corless is a third-generation Boise resident, born and raised on the beautiful Boise Bench. Kathy and her husband, Len, are Borah High Alumni, parents of a daughter at West Junior High and a son who recently graduated from Borah. Kathy spent 19 years at Micron Technology, culminating in a career as a Global Commodity Manager, where she managed $200M in annual spending and negotiated complex supply agreements with Fortune 500 companies. Kathy has worked in government procurement for five years, including the Idaho State Department of Education and Ada County.

Kathy has been an advocate in Boise for over 30 years, participating in Boise’s first MLK march, meeting Rosa Parks, knocking on doors for health care, and supporting LGBTQ+ rights. In 2019, Kathy successfully spearheaded a call-in campaign to the City Council to fund a splash pad at Molenaar Park. The city budget was revised to make it happen thanks to collaborative efforts with Council members Clegg and McLean. In 2020, Kathy served as the South Cole Neighborhood Association’s treasurer before becoming its President in 2021. As SCNA President, Kathy was a fierce advocate to save Murgoitio Park from residential development, standing up for our community interests. As a business owner, Kathy knows first-hand the hurdles local businesses face and will strive to make the city more business-friendly, cutting red tape and streamlining processes.

From her early days in the Salvation Army church, Kathy embraced the values of compassion and generosity. She proudly joined the inaugural all-female crew for Habitat for Humanity in District 3 and has actively contributed volunteer time to programs like the Ada County Juvenile Diversion,  Idaho Humane Society, Faces of Hope, Paint the Town, Rake up Boise, and school activities for her children. A committed blood donor for the American Red Cross, she encourages healthy adults to contribute. Kathy believes in meaningful action over mere talk, always aiming for tangible community benefits.
