Coming this spring, the Boise Airport is launching Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, designed to enhance the travel experience for individuals with invisible disabilities. This empowers travelers to discreetly communicate their need for additional support.
The program utilizes a recognizable green lanyard with sunflowers. This lanyard serves as a discreet signal to airport staff that the wearer, or a member of their group, may have a hidden disability. Additionally, airport employees wearing sunflower pins are readily available to help.
There are no eligibility requirements to request or wear a Sunflower lanyard. It's a simple tool to help you navigate the airport. By wearing the lanyard, you alert our team that you may benefit from extra support.
Once the program lunches you will also be able to obtain a lanyard in person at the following locations:
- Airport Admin Office located on the third floor of the airport, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- City Hall, Office of Community Engagement, 3rd Floor, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
*Offices are closed on City holidays.
In the meantime, if you would like to receive program updates and register to receive a free lanyard by mail, please complete the form below.
