The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program is designed to enhance the experience for individuals with invisible disabilities. This empowers members of our community to discreetly communicate their need for additional support.
The program utilizes a recognizable green lanyard with sunflowers. This lanyard serves as a discreet signal to staff that the wearer, or a member of their group, may have a hidden disability. Additionally, employees wearing sunflower pins are readily available to help.
There are no eligibility requirements to request or wear a Sunflower lanyard. It's a simple tool to help you navigate our public spaces. By wearing the lanyard, you alert our team that you may benefit from extra support.
You can obtain a lanyard in person at the following locations:
- Airport Admin Office located on the third floor of the airport, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- City Hall, Office of Community Engagement, 3rd Floor, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- During open hours at Boise Public Libraries
*Offices are closed on City holidays.
