Brady Fuller

Candidate for City Council - Seat 5

Bio provided by candidate

Born at St. Luke’s in downtown Boise, Brady has had the good fortune of calling Idaho his home since the very beginning. His fondest childhood memories include waking up to an early morning sunrise to see the hot air balloons at the Boise River Festival, spending summers floating down the Boise River and riding on the Greenbelt, enjoying local art at the many street fairs that Boise has during the year, and waiting all summer for the Western Idaho Fair (mainly for the ice cream potato).

Throughout his life, his passion to serve has guided and grounded him. As a first-generation college student studying political science at the University of Idaho, he worked as a coordinator in the Center of Volunteerism and Social Action. In that role, he encouraged students to get involved at the local, national, and international level. At that time, he led a group of students to Peru where they taught English and assisted in the construction of two primary schools. He also spent a semester working as a teaching assistant in the Plummer-Worley School District on the Coeur d’Alene Reservation. As a senior, he was recognized for his deep community involvement and service to others, earning the Guy and Grace Wicks Memorial Award as the male student of the year and the University of Idaho 2015 Outstanding Senior Award for academic success, student involvement, and leadership.

After he graduated from college, he interned with United States Senator Mike Crapo in his Boise office. Interning with an Idaho Senator gave Brady the opportunity to work with Idahoans and to better understand the concerns and values that we all share. Additionally, Brady served in the United States Peace Corps from 2016 to 2018 teaching English in a remote village in Cambodia. After having served abroad for two years, he is excited to be back home where he can continue serving others right here in the City of Trees. This year, Brady was also appointed by Governor Little to serve as a commissioner on Serve Idaho, the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism.
