Towed and Impounded Vehicles

Missing Vehicle?

If your vehicle is missing, call Non-Emergency Dispatch to determine the whereabouts of your vehicle: (208) 377-6790.

A vehicle will be towed by the city for one of the following violations:

• Tow Directed by Police Department
  Police Department directs tows for abandoned vehicles and other law enforcement needs. To locate a vehicle, contact Ada County Dispatch at (208) 377-6790. For questions about police initiated tows, please contact Vehicle Impounds at (208) 570-6120.
• Towed from Parks
  Vehicles parked in designated ares of a city park after the posted time limit may be impounded, as per City Code.
• Unpaid Parking Tickets
  As per City Code, accumulating unresolved citations may result in your vehicle being impounded. Vehicles may be towed upon confirmation that the registered owner has accumulated delinquent, unpaid, or otherwise unsettled and uncontested parking fines which have remained unpaid for a period of 30 days totaling at least $200, or five or more tickets.

Vehicle Tow Review

If you feel your vehicle was towed in error, you may submit a Vehicle Tow Review. Once submitted, the Tow Review Committee will review the circumstances behind the towing and determine if it was conducted in alignment with Boise City Code. Please be advised that failure to understand rules and regulations (including not reading posted signs) does not constitute an erroneous tow.

Requests must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the tow. Please be as specific as possible and attach any pertinent information or documentation. You will be notified, in writing, within 10 working days of receipt of the request. All decisions made by the committee are final.
