Zero Emissions Vehicle Permit

The City of Boise offers a parking permit for Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) that allows free parking at meters for up to the maximum allowable time (2 or 4 hours depending on the parking meter zone). After your application has been processed, you will be notified by email with the next steps for purchasing a permit. A vehicle inspection by Boise City Fleet Services may be required if the fuel type cannot be confirmed using the information provided in this application. The cost of the permit is $10/Year. Please note that Hybrid Vehicles (including plug-in Hybrids) do not qualify for the ZEV permit program.

o I understand that ZEV permits can only be used for the vehicle included in an approved application. The permit allows the vehicle to be parked for only one cycle of the parking meter (2 or 4 hours depending on the parking meter zone). Vehicles may be cited for failure to remove the vehicle from the parking space at the expiration of the maximum allowable time for that meter zone. Abuse or unlawful use of a ZEV permit will result in a penalty of $50.00 and/or the immediate revocation of permit privileges. Permit fees are non-refundable. Hybrid Vehicles (including plug-in Hybrid vehicles) do not qualify for the ZEV permit program. Permit holders are responsible for renewing permits upon expiration and any tickets issued to a vehicle after the expiration of a permit will not be excused.
