Strategic Priority Areas

A Safe and Healthy City for Everyone: Under the leadership of public safety chiefs, staff have worked on new policies and practices to ensure equitable treatment for all residents, communities and neighborhoods. With a focus on public safety and wellness services, the city strives to continue to serve our community.

A Home for Everyone: Focus on equitable housing goals and well‑being of people in Boise, investing in existing neighborhoods and creating housing for every price point.

Movement for Everyone: Make it easier to bike or walk to work or school and to reach desired locations. The city continues to explore improvements to streets and where they present the most opportunity to increase safety.

Clean City for Everyone: Protect our clean air and clean water. Inspect parks, open spaces and pathways to give neighborhoods access to clean and safe outdoor recreation and spaces. The focus is to deliver a clean city year‑round.

Opportunity for Everyone: To meet the needs of a growing community, city staff have worked to meet the mayor’s priorities by building economic opportunities that allow people to support themselves and their families. Additionally, increasing community cultural interaction and sense of cultural vibrancy has been at the core of these efforts to build a strong, diverse economy.

Engaging Everyone: Work to ensure equal opportunities for residents to remain accessible and transparent, and collect input from residents’ decisions for Boise and create the space for their voices.
