The Boise Fire Department presents Fire Prevention Week annually in the fall for Boise city schools and day care facilities.
Boise Fire Prevention Coordinator schedules visits approximately 60 schools in the Boise area each year. The children watch an interactive show to learn fire safety. At the elementary schools, firefighters provide a tour of their fire engine, answer questions and hand out activity books about the importance of fire safety. The goal of the program is to provide children with safety information which will stay with them as they grow, and potentially save their life someday.
