Battery Systems Permit

The battery systems permit applies to the installation of a stationary battery system.

Application Materials

Before applying for this permit, please have the following materials ready:

Prevention Plan Drawings

Prevention plan drawings (site plan) including the proposed area of operation including building floor plan.

Activity Description

Activity description stating the nature of operations, type of materials used/stored, quantity of materials, system configurations, manufacturer product sheets and fire protection devices provided.

1) Nature of operations
2) Type and quantity of batteries used/stored
3) Capacity of battery system in kWh
4) System configuration
5) Manufacturer product sheets
6) Fire protection devices utilized

Application

  1. Log in to our online permitting and licensing system. If you are a first time user of this system, you will need to create an account.
  2. After logging in, click "Apply" and select "Fire Permit" from the top menu bar.
  • Review and accept the online disclaimer and complete the application.
  • In your application you will have the opportunity to request an inspection date and time. Please note that the Fire Department will contact you directly to confirm your inspection time.
