Applies to the installation of a Capacitor energy storage system having capacities exceeding 3kWh.
Application Materials
Before applying for this permit, please have the following materials ready:

Prevention Plan Drawings
Prevention plan drawings (site plan) showing location of system, location of exits in the area of system, location of fire-extinguishing and detection systems, location of exhaust (if installed).
Other
You must also submit the manufacturer product sheets for system components and, if mechanical ventilation is provided, provide supporting documentation for ventilation systems meeting the requirements of the International Mechanical Code and section 1206.3.5.3 of the 2018 IFC.
Application
- Log in to our online permitting and licensing system. If you are a first time user of this system, you will need to create an account.
- After logging in, click "Apply" and select "Fire Permit" from the top menu bar.
- Review and accept the online disclaimer and complete the application.
- In your application you will have the opportunity to request an inspection date and time. Please note that the Fire Department will contact you directly to confirm your inspection time.
