Hot Work Operations

The hot work operations permit applies to hot work that includes, but is not limited to: public exhibitions and demonstrations and the use of portable hot work equipment not in conjunction with a construction permit. This permit also applies to the use of welding booths and hot work in a Wildland Urban Interface Area.

Application Materials

Before applying for this permit, please have the following materials ready:

Prevention Plan Drawings

Prevention plan drawings (site plan) showing proposed area of operation including building floor plan.

Activity Description

Activity description stating number of devices, type of devices, fire protection devices provided and details of safety program.

Application

  1. Log in to our online permitting and licensing system. If you are a first time user of this system, you will need to create an account.
  2. After logging in, click "Apply" and select "Fire Permit" from the top menu bar.
  • Review and accept the online disclaimer and complete the application.
  • In your application you will have the opportunity to request an inspection date and time. Please note that the Fire Department will contact you directly to confirm your inspection time.
