Open Flames and Candles Permit

The Open Flames and Candles permit applies to the use of open flames of any kind or candles in connection with assembly areas, dining areas of restaurants or drinking establishments.

Application Materials

Before applying for this permit, please have the following materials ready:

Prevention Plan Drawings

Prevention plan drawings (site plan) including all building features associated with the area of use.

Activity Description

The activity description should include: the location of open flames or candles, size of dispenser, amount of fuel used, type of fuel used, storage location of the fuel and fire protection features present in the area of use.

Application

  1. Log in to our online permitting and licensing system. If you are a first time user of this system, you will need to create an account.
  2. After logging in, click "Apply" and select "Fire Permit" from the top menu bar.
  • Review and accept the online disclaimer and complete the application.
  • In your application you will have the opportunity to request an inspection date and time. Please note that the Fire Department will contact you directly to confirm your inspection time.
