Station History

April 2024 – On April 3, 2024, the City of Boise officially broke ground on Fire Station 13 to improve fire coverage in Northwest Boise. The station was planned to house a fully staffed engine and brush rig, designed with the goal of meeting the department’s five-minute response standard. The project aligned with Boise’s climate action goals, with the station designed to be fully electric.

2024–2025 – Station 13 was built with cross-laminated timber, durable metal cladding, and biophilic design elements to support firefighter wellness. Included are three apparatus bays, living quarters for up to six firefighters, fitness space, and shared office space for Boise Police. Infrastructure installed for electric vehicle charging and future solar panels.

June 2025 – On June 30, 2025, Boise Fire celebrated the official opening of Station 13 with a community hose-uncoupling ceremony.
