The Office of Police Accountability is tasked to investigate complaints of misconduct against Boise City police officers and police personnel. The Office is independent from all other city departments and reports directly to the Mayor and Council. The Office provides a place to voice concerns outside of the Boise Police Department and increases public understanding of law enforcement policies and procedures. The Office prioritizes seeking the truth, advocating for accountability, and promoting public confidence through positive changes to police practices, ensuring that policies and procedures reflect the needs of the community.
