This week the City of Boise is tracking an updated Senate Bill. The former bill, Senate Bill 1021, has been updated to Senate Bill 1048 (SB 1048), which continues to focus on limiting property tax growth to the extent that it would impact how cities are able to provide essential services, such as public safety, water and parks, to residents. The bill would have significant negative impact on Idaho cities that are continuing to grapple with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. You can find a full update on how Senate Bill 1048 may impact cities in last week’s Legislative Update.
