Office of Police Oversight

The Office of Police Oversight provides impartial review and investigation of complaints of misconduct by Boise police officers. In addition, the Office of Police Oversight conducts independent reviews of officer involved shootings and other critical incidents. We are completely independent of the Boise Police Department and answer directly to the Mayor and City Council. Our mission is to promote public confidence in the professionalism and accountability of the employees of the Boise Police Department.

About

The Boise City Council established the Office of Police Oversight in July 1999. The Office was established to investigate complaints of misconduct against City of Boise police and law enforcement officers. The Office is independent of the Boise Police Department and all other city departments.
