What’s New for Fall 2020

Our team at Boise Parks and Recreation is always coming up with new and exciting ways to connect our community to outdoor, educational and recreational opportunities. Here’s a glance at some of the additional offerings for fall 2020.

Please note that fall 2020 activities, programs and reservations could be altered or cancelled due to coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions and safety precautions. Boise Parks and Recreation will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and coordinate with state and local health officials, including Central District Health, throughout the fall season.

Preschool (Walking-Age 5)

Little Gardeners Preschool Drop-Off

Designed for children ages 3.5 through 6, our three-hour preschool drop-off sessions focus on seasonal components of gardening that encourage exploration, creativity and healthy eating. Drop-off sessions are offered every Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. Starting Sept. 4 at Boise Urban Garden School (2995 N. Five Mile Rd.). Learn more on page 5 of the Fall Activity Guide.

Youth (Ages 6-12)

Green Beans Eco Club

This monthly sustainability club is for kids looking to create greener thumbs and a greener planet. Create tools and crafts with upcycled materials, work in the garden and more. Offered on Mondays from September through December on select dates. Learn more on page 14 of the Fall Activity Guide.

Foothills Explorers Camp

Join us as we explore the foothills, go on hikes and learn about local plants and animals. This camp is designed for kids ages 6 through 12 and will be held at the Foothills Learning Center. Learn more on page 20 of the Fall Activity Guide.


Parkour is getting from point A to point B as quickly and efficiently as possible using just your body and environment. This class will be held on Fridays in the fall at Myth Parkour (2902 S. Featherly Way) for ages 6 to 11. Check out page 21 of the Fall Activity Guide for more information.

Wreath Making Class

Use local foraged plant materials to create a beautiful holiday wreath. Classes will be held December 1 and 8 at the Foothills Learning Center. Learn more on page 33 of the Fall activity Guide.
