Alta Harris Park Site Improvements

The City of Boise Parks and Recreation Department is constructing frontage improvements along Eckert Road as a part of Phase 1 of Alta Harris Park.
The work is expected to be completed by March 2026 and includes the installation of a pedestrian signal crossing, curb, gutter, roadway drainage, trees, sidewalks, utilities, irrigation and two entrances into the future community park.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as there may be temporary traffic impacts during construction.
Phase 2 of development of Alta Harris Park is planned to begin in the summer of 2026, and will include parking lot construction, greenbelt pathways, concrete paths and site grading.
Permeable Pavers Improvement Project at Alta Harris Park
Boise City Council approved $250,000 in Open Space and Clean Water levy funds for the construction of permeable pavement at the Alta Harris Park site. The permeable pavers act as bio-retention treatment areas which reduce stormwater impacts to the Boise River and adjacent watershed. The improvement project will benefit stormwater quality and reduce pollution in the Boise River.
Sustainable development of Alta Harris Park will serve more than 2,200 residents within a 10-minute walk once completed. Phase 2 of development of Alta Harris Park is planned to begin in the summer of 2026, and will include parking lot construction, greenbelt pathways, concrete paths and site grading.

Project completion estimates are subject to change due to volatility in the construction industry. Current challenges include material availability, rising costs, supply chain disruptions, staffing shortages and more. Boise Parks and Recreation will update project timelines as needed if delays occur.
