Alta Harris Park Site Improvements

The City of Boise Parks and Recreation Department has completed constructing the frontage improvements along Eckert Road as a part of Phase 1 of Alta Harris Park.
The work included the installation of a pedestrian signal crossing, curb, gutter, roadway drainage, trees, sidewalks, utilities, irrigation and two entrances into the future community park.
Phase 2 of development of Alta Harris Park is planned to begin in the summer of 2026, and may include half of the parking lot, grading the site, sidewalk, greenbelt path, nature playground, bocce, restroom, pavilions and soccer fields.
Once the bidding for phase 2 is complete, the extent of amenities that will be able to be built will be determined.
Permeable Pavers Improvement Project at Alta Harris Park
Boise City Council approved $250,000 in Open Space and Clean Water levy funds for the construction of permeable pavement at the Alta Harris Park site. The permeable pavers act as bio-retention treatment areas which reduce stormwater impacts to the Boise River and adjacent watershed. The improvement project will benefit stormwater quality and reduce pollution in the Boise River.
Sustainable development of Alta Harris Park will serve more than 2,200 residents within a 10-minute walk once completed.

Project completion estimates are subject to change due to volatility in the construction industry. Current challenges include material availability, rising costs, supply chain disruptions, staffing shortages and more. Boise Parks and Recreation will update project timelines as needed if delays occur.
